We moved to the Algarve in the summer of 2022, having relocated from the east coast of the US for new employment in Faro. When we began our exciting journey in Portugal, we were renting an apartment near to the downtown marina area of Faro. In the summer of 2023, after thoroughly enjoying and experiencing Portugal for a year, we determined it was time to put down ‘deeper’ roots and thus began a search to buy a home.

Before we had the good fortune of knowing about Algarve Property or Liane Bergström, our first experiences with real estate representation were, unfortunately, not successful; this was discouraging for us but we knew that we had to continue to seek effective representation, believing that the right professional was out there! A trusted friend and work colleague recommended that we contact the agent that he and his wife had recently and very successfully worked with and this is how we met Liane - talk about hitting the jackpot, Liane was, and is, amazing!

From our first outreach to Liane, until the day we signed the final deed on the property we purchased with her expert support, Liane was always available, very thorough in her process, and consistently positive and encouraging. As we were new to Portugal, the Algarve, and the process of purchasing a home in Portugal, and as people who did not speak Portuguese, knowing that we could reach out to Liane with any question was tremendously comforting; her thorough and thoughtful responses communicated to us that no question was too big or too small and her patience with our many outreaches and many questions is truly commendable.

Liane is an incredibly skilled professional; in our experience, the aspects that stood out to us were Liane’s deep knowledge of real estate conditions and practice, her deep knowledge of the Algarve, her quick response to calls, emails, or text messages, and her keen ability to quickly and accurately understand what we were seeking in our home search and to act on that, to our distinct benefit.
